Home Education
We have been homeschooling for five years now. We started a little differently than most we know. Actually I told all my homeschooling friends that I wouldn’t homeschool. I needed to send my kids to school! Well . . .
Our oldest daughter is deaf and we signed her up for the school at the ripe age of three. That was really hard and she made no progress in that program. So we moved her home and used the services of Regional Dayschool for the Deaf. They sent a deaf ed teacher out to the house once a week. That was nice, but I still felt like she wasn’t making much progress. So we moved her to a private, oral deaf school for her 4 year old year. That was a long year. I finally convinced my husband that we needed to bring her home and at age 5 we started our homeschool journey.
So through that experience I volunteer with Isaiah’s Place and write a blog on educational resources for the deaf. I also share stories of our lives as it relates to the deaf homeschool experience.
On this page I plan on offering our favorite homeschool resources! Stay tuned.
I am now recommending Vision Forum Products! These great resources encourage families back to Biblical principles. Check out my Vision Forum Page to see my favorite resources.
